Woman and its Tryst with Destiny

While clean drinking water seems to be a problem for some, drinking seems to be problem for many. #Girls #India #urbanruraldivide #richpoorgap

Dear Woman,

What is equality to you?

Is it drinking alcohol, doing drugs and smoking cigarettes? Are you trying to impress your men?
Women in the name of equality what are you trying to do, you are just trying to mimic men.

Why do woman need empowerment?
Women very never weak. They were very strong throughout the ages.

In an Indian family, there were two roles. One that of a provider and other that of a nourisher.
The man was the provider, and the women was the nourisher. It was a great responsibility that they did it extraordinarily. They were equal. It’s like comparing a Federer and Messi. Can you? How do you say one is better than the other.

Today women are wanting to have equal participation in all areas, both professional and personal. She is asking for equal pay, nothing wrong with it. I believe she should be paid equally if not more but you still end up being a rat in the rat race.

Mothers used to cook three times a day for their children.Today many children are asked to order from a click of a mobile.

Now there are only deadlines and targets to achieve. Is this the new norm? Ask yourself are you contented? Is this your definition of success? I am afraid how would you face your children.

However man progresses in technology,in AI or Metaverse , he will not be able to get pregnant.(...With Elon Musk around you never know.)

A woman nourishes a baby for the first nine months, so whatever you eat, drink, smoke, read, think or act it will nourish the baby. The Sanskar’s for the first nine months for the baby is definitely inherited from the mother.

Why does a woman need to compete with a man in the first place. She is herself a strong , peaceful and contented soul

Women why are you competing yourself against these bastards, you are drowning yourself.

We definitely don’t want more drunkards, druggists and smokers resulting in more cases of depression, anxiety and stress. We need a world where woman are role models for the world to look up to.

Are you trying to chase success? Or are you trying to copy the west? Aren’t you proud of our rich heritage which you inherited from our parents and teachers?

My role model and inspiration, I draw form my mother is that of survival against all the odds of life put against her and still successfully passing with flying colours. To be raising her children with values against all the stones thrown at her.

Women Empowerment: Myth vs Reality

सत्यम् ब्रूयात् प्रियम् ब्रूयात् न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियम् |
प्रियम् नानृतं ब्रूयात् एष धर्मः सनातनः ||

satyam bruyat priyam bruyat na bruyat satyam apriyam
priyam ca nanrutam bruyat esha dharmah sanatanah

Speak truth in such a way that it should be pleasing to others. Never speak truth, which is unpleasant to others. Never speak untruth, which might be pleasant. This is the path of eternal morality, sanatana dharma.

Real empowerment happens only by two ways

1.Devotion
2.Sense of Service

It is a well considered myth that only working women are more empowered than housewife’s.

A women who takes care of her husband and children with devotion are really more empowered to make correct decisions than a women who may be a chairperson of any organization but works without any devotion.

Real power does not come through authority,it comes through service.
Empowerment as per Hindu religious texts is not gained by holding any authorized position,it happens by sense of service that one offers.

In ancient India, even now in some places,it is the man who occupies the head of the family position and the  women is used to listening to him, this has often been misconstructed as slavery by the western historians who did come to India.Even in this so called bondage of the wife,it was received by her with an unsaid , untold joy and love, though the so called intellectuals of today have called it patriarchical, antiwomen and antisocial.

India has never been antiwomen since ancient ages.
It always respected women.Mathrudevobhava -  Treat your mother as god. This has been well reflected in the religious preaching’s of great saints like Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Paramhamsa and Sankaracharya.  Though the western culture taught otherwise.

Women need to be treated as children and protected” – this is what the Manusmriti, an ancient Hindu text states.

Today this is often misrepresented as lack of freedom, bondage, slavery by the so called intellectual, modern, westernized, liberal women activists.

P.S.- I am not a Hindu extremist.

Should women be given freedom?

Freedom cannot be achieved unless the women have been emancipated from all forms of oppression. - Nelson Mandela

The scriptures (Manu-samhita)say
'Women should not be given freedom, that does not mean they should be treated as slaves'.

They should be treated as children.Children are not given freedom, that does not mean they are treated as slaves. They are to be protected by the father in the young age,by the husband in the youth stage and by the children in the old age.

Absence of freedom does not mean bonded labour.
Women empowerment through financial independence and protection of women should be a top priority. In today's world they have rejected the scriptures and think that women should be given as much freedom as men.The moral condition of women has neither improved or has the world become any better.

Should women be given reservation?

Yes women should be given  reservation in places where women empowerment is a direction.Places like skill development.Places where representation of women is less that the necessary levels, women, should be empowered ,to make better decisions.

Women

With five hundred men ...,the conquest of India might take fifty years, with as many women, not more than a few weeks.-Swami Vivekananda

Women are a embodiment of strength and tolerance.Women are know to shape the destiny of a nation.
Women-Mothers are an embodiment of love, towards their children.Women are known to be more courageous than their male counterparts at the time of distress.

A women has to be respected if the country is to progress. The progress of a nation is determined by the attitude, it has towards its women.Women empowerment is a sign of progress of the nation.Women empowerment has to happen through devotion.

Women will work out their own destinies-much better, too, than men can ever do for them All the mischief to women has come because men undertook to shape the destiny of women.
An institution which I truly admire for women at work is Brahmakumaris & at http://www.amritapuri.org/17631/14we.aum. Women here are a source of devotion and beauty.

The recent rape incidents is a sign of male autocracy and proper justice should be ensured so that they feel safe and secure and  prevent any such incident from occurring again.

Women define the true essence and culture of a country.

Woman Empowerment

The progress of a nation is determined by the state of its women.

It’s mid April and I am thinking of what to write on,  should I write on IPL  6, or MK Narayanan’s speech at Presidency college or closer still, about the Ugli dams or about my recent addition of Carte Blanche,a blog that I added to read. But then I decide to write on my favourite topic  Women.

So what do women bring into the table?
Women are more tolerant, they are known to coordinate well, and they to bring in compassion into the table. Over the years women have dominated  the roll of homemaker,HR Managers and teachers to perfection.

Women are known to be emotional whereas the male counterparts are more dispassionate.

What are the odds that women face?
·         Infant mortality rate in girls is one of the highest  for no fault of hers.
·         Education of girl a still a fortune in many areas and not a right.
·         Dowry deaths and domestic violence is still rampant in many parts of the country and  goes unnoticed.
·         And then the society at large that is witness to crimes in the form of rapes and molestation by a few criminal elements.

Yes a sense of security has to be provided by the father, husband and son at home and at the state by the police and the judiciary by prompt delivery of justice.

My attention is drawn to Sushma Swaraj speech on women at NDTV Indian of the year awards. As she puts in  women empowerment happens in the following  ways:-

1.Education
2.Security
3.Financial Independence
4.Politicial activisim.

A quote from the Bhagavat Gita comes to my mind

adharmabhibhavat krsna pradusyanti kula-striyah
Strisu dustasu varsneya jayate varna-sankarah”-Bhagavat Gita -1.40

Meaning if irreligion is dominant in the family ,O Krishna, the women of the  family becomes polluted ,and from the degradation of womanhood descendant  of Vrsni, comes unwanted progeny.

Education should have an aspect that instills a spirit of service and devotion in a women ,will give rise to a population with lustre and that which is very genuine. Education should also impart , skill necessary for financial independence thereby empowering them.

Stree Shakti-Happy Women's Day

                                               Lust cannot live near devotion
                                               Nor devotion near lust’s sight
                                              These two never coexist
The sun and gloom of night
                                                                                                       -Kabirdas

Women form the lifeline of any society. They breathe  emotions of love ,affection and compassion into life. They are tolerant and  form the more sacrificial counterparts.
Any society's state is reflected by the condition of its women, the better the condition of women the better is the society.

Half of the population of women in India would be seen  singing bhajans and worshipping god and goddess,-they are devotional. The other half would be seen preparing business plans meeting deadlines,-they are professional. This represents a division between an devotional Indian women and an aspirational Indian women. The former an ideal 19th century women worshipping parent ,Pati is parmeshwar and 'I have to look after my children'-a householder. The latter ,a 21st century women ,where husband is hot and children are cool.-and 'I have to get the contract and deal signed before anyone else does' -An aspirational independent women.

The diference can be reflected in the  huge no of women attending in the pandals of a Devi Chitraleka or a Morari bapu and the other we see  in the boardrooms of a ICICI bank  or a PEPSI CO. group making professional commitments and deadlines.

Whoever be the women be it the 19th century or the 21st century ,a women has to be protected the  mother, the wife and the daughter.

The government on its part seems to be on the right track, launching welfare measures for its women safety and women empowerment by providing easy loans. The scriptures say ,that the strength of the King lies in the criminal code and the attention of the weak and of women

On the ocassion of international women’s day ,celebrating womenhood in the society ,be it an Irom sharmila or a Mamta banerjee or a simple householder.
