Criminalization of Sex

Prostitude(n):A lady who sells her body to those who have sold their morals.

There is a increase in crime rates against women in India in the recent times.

I think there are supposed to be proper measures that will make an effective change in the society and bring a stop to crime rates against women. I think judges, MP’s, MLA’s should start writing on measures they intent to take to stop crimes against women. In
India everything works undertable form therefore to bring daylight to women should be the first measure.

I would say India should do well to learn from Sweden and criminalize buying of sex i.e. punish men who buy sex .This method adopted in Sweden has led to decline and has put an end to sex trade of women and children. This has also reduced crime rates against women and children.A special fund should be established for prostitutes who want to get out of the trade. The police should be provided with intensive training to handle the women involved. Also the people who recruit, transport and the hosts  should be punished heavily.

I think in India, prostitution cannot and should not be legalised as this would only be adding to crimes against women and be counterproductive.

The patriarchal system should not stop us from saving our women and children.
