Divine Spark

"I know you are tired but come, this is the way."
                                                                                -Rumi

Every aspect of life requires a divine spark for it to be done well.

Whether it is a rescue operation, or starting a new business venture or even getting a mobile activated.

Even the smallest of task or work or to be executed completely requires a divine will. Any task to see the light of day requires a divine touch. Until and unless there is a divine will , no activity will get completed.

Man has become so composed in himself that he feels that everything is done by him, and each accomplishment is his own. He has become so consumed in himself that he has forgotten essence of the divine aspect of life.

As the Uttarkand flood relief are on,lets pray that the divinity in the place and people will give them strength and courage to pass through the difficult period.

Thirst-Water a precious resource

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt ,those  who have searched ,and those who have tried for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.-Victor Hugo

Its scary to imagine our lives without water

Its more scary to imagine our lives without drinking water.

Its even more scary to imagine death due to lack of drinking water or thirst.

The reality is more than thousands of villages live without water.

Forget the villages even few cities have to struggle to get water.

In drought affected areas the amount of water is even more scarce.

In scarcity there is snatching and mental unrest.

There are rivers and there are dams, but there is no water.

The effort of Salman Khan, NGO, Being Human is credible ,in supplying  200 tankers of water to drought  affected  villages.

How is it that an NGO is able to do this and why is the ruling party not  able to find effective means to find lasting solutions ?

What is the ruling party doing about it?
What is being done to reduce wastage of water?
What happened to the project of interconnecting  rivers across India?

These are questions that need  to be asked and answered.

Rivers of my Nation

Boundaries don't protect rivers, people do. -Brad Arrowsmith

Why is GANGA is so important?

What is the significance of a river?

Why should we clean up the Ganga?

A river is a natural resource which other than acting as a reservoir of clean water and a natural habitat for many species acts as a storehouse of  enthusiasm for the people around and across.

A flowing river is clean as it purifies itself and supplies the people with energy and exuberance.
The energy and exuberance provided by a river is thousand times more useful than any amount of money.

A river provides the lifeline for a population by not only giving water and livelihood for farmers and fisherman,
It has also sparked lots of poets and creative writers.Hence a river is a store of newer, brighter ideas and dreams .Such people with their energy and enthusiasm act as a national resource and bring prosperity to the nation.

In the meantime an unclean, dirty and still river results in a gloomy environment, dull and lethargic people without any tinge of excitement .They act as a liability to the nation.

Many wars have been fought over temples and boundaries. There has been lot of money spent on the cleaning of the rivers, lets fight a war to reclaim the lost rivers of our nation.

Woman Empowerment

The progress of a nation is determined by the state of its women.

It’s mid April and I am thinking of what to write on,  should I write on IPL  6, or MK Narayanan’s speech at Presidency college or closer still, about the Ugli dams or about my recent addition of Carte Blanche,a blog that I added to read. But then I decide to write on my favourite topic  Women.

So what do women bring into the table?
Women are more tolerant, they are known to coordinate well, and they to bring in compassion into the table. Over the years women have dominated  the roll of homemaker,HR Managers and teachers to perfection.

Women are known to be emotional whereas the male counterparts are more dispassionate.

What are the odds that women face?
·         Infant mortality rate in girls is one of the highest  for no fault of hers.
·         Education of girl a still a fortune in many areas and not a right.
·         Dowry deaths and domestic violence is still rampant in many parts of the country and  goes unnoticed.
·         And then the society at large that is witness to crimes in the form of rapes and molestation by a few criminal elements.

Yes a sense of security has to be provided by the father, husband and son at home and at the state by the police and the judiciary by prompt delivery of justice.

My attention is drawn to Sushma Swaraj speech on women at NDTV Indian of the year awards. As she puts in  women empowerment happens in the following  ways:-

1.Education
2.Security
3.Financial Independence
4.Politicial activisim.

A quote from the Bhagavat Gita comes to my mind

adharmabhibhavat krsna pradusyanti kula-striyah
Strisu dustasu varsneya jayate varna-sankarah”-Bhagavat Gita -1.40

Meaning if irreligion is dominant in the family ,O Krishna, the women of the  family becomes polluted ,and from the degradation of womanhood descendant  of Vrsni, comes unwanted progeny.

Education should have an aspect that instills a spirit of service and devotion in a women ,will give rise to a population with lustre and that which is very genuine. Education should also impart , skill necessary for financial independence thereby empowering them.

Road Accidents:A few more foot over bridges

From a car insurance claim form:
“Q.Could either driver have done anything to avoid the accident?
 A:Travelled by bus?”

The no. of road accidents and the eurozone have one thing in common ,both seem to be in perennial crises, and one  difference between the two , the latter seems to be  able to find a bail out each time. No such luck with the pedestrians on the streets. They still have to cross the same roads and hope the best.

The no. of the deaths caused by road accidents in India are more than terrorist attacks and any bomb blasts put together.

One is brought to the attention that while crossing roads ,especially at the highways, one has a tough time ,with vehicles zipping past ,one after  another, one is left muttering  ...... will it hit ,will it not  ....will it hit ,will it not..like from  the famous  DARR sequence. Usually it is tough walk, where every driver thinks he is in the Budd circuit and a Micheal Schumacher  behinds the wheels.

The problem becomes more acute in the absence of a traffic signal and the huge array of vehicles which seems to be growing like the current account deficit .The inconvenience is not only for the senior citizens but also the students like me as it takes more than a few minutes to cross them.

There needs to be a more secure road travel, with access to hospitals,a helpline no. ,broader and separate lanes for vehicles for the people in general ,so that trips of recreation does not change into a death trap.

A few foot overbridges at certain  places  would be a welcome relieve to a lot of people and  would go a long way in reducing  a lot of stress while crossing roads thereby also reducing the no. of deaths, and preventing injuries.

Righteousness in Leadership

Leadership is about righteousness  also  called as Dharma.

So what is Dharma?

Is it about the leader being honest ? No it is not only about the person being honest it is also about punishing the unrighteous.

I am brought to notice that good people do not enter politics ,the prosperity of good people in the society is reflective of the righteousness of the leader. It is about taking decisions punishing the wrong doers  which alone helps in the prosperity of the good doers.

If righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in the character
Where there is beauty in the character, there is harmony in the home
If there is harmony in the home, there is order in the nation,
If there is order in the nation there is peace in the world

Righteousness of the leader reflects of courage in gloomy days, being just to the weak and compassionate towards the poor alike. Righteousness of a leader  is tested when the so called called internal compulsions arise. Is the leader able to be righteous enough, belying the internal compulsions, Is his test?

Attention is drawn to two dark aspects in modern day living:-

Riots:
Any leader has the responsibility
·         To prevent
·         To stop
·         To take action
against the culprits.

A.B.Vajpayee as a leader did show righteousness when Bal Thackeray was debarred from fighting elections in 1999.

Bomb Blasts:
Again a leader has the responsibility  to take measures
·         As preventive measures: how has intelligence services been made more effective?
·         To stop :What are the emergency services?
·         Action being taken to find culprits

Its been a frequent occurrence in India, whereas in America after the 9/11 there has not been strikes. So what is different in America and India? If America has been able to achieve this why has India not been. Definitely the same measures may not be the best for India as America as a cultural and topographical positions ,but what about China, or even UK? Is  India a paradise for such attacks?

The story of a stolen mobile

With eyes set on the interview he set out for the new horizon
Alas did he know the horizon would be far to his reach

With the venue address stored on his mobile as an sms he set out to get his elusive job
But alas this would be his last time he would see his mobile

He checked the time least he should be late ,It was 10:47,well ahead of his scheduled time
But alas did he know that would be his last time he checks the time on his mobile

And when he reached mahim, he found something amiss
Ohhh shit!....his mobile had been stolen!!

Forget the interview ,I have to get my mobile back, he rushed to the police woman at mahim ,"Nahi apko ‘dadar' mein complain karna padega, chori  vahaan huaa hai” ,dadar the place where I boarded the train.

At dadar railway police station,
He said: Sir my mobile has been stolen , a few important contacts are there.
Police:” jakar  mobile bill lekar aao”,(it sounded  like 'uske baap ka sign lekar aao jisnee mobile banaya hai'...)
I said Err “bill “,I mean teen saal pehle liya hai sir mobile, bill toh nahi hoga."
Police :IMEI no? ( sounded like a moorse code expression)
"Sir, doondtha huaan".,he replies.

I reach my service provider
Sir IMEI chahiye ?police complain karna hai?
Service Provider: "Yahaan nahin.....jaoo jahaan se mobile khareda hai,  ussse poocho"..(It sounded as 'uska sign leke aao jisne mere mathe par likha hai .mera mobile chori ho gaya')

At the mobile store: "jaoo  gallery main dail karo ,we keep records for only for last  three years.gallery has all the records"
Gallery: tells “Mail karo"

Finally  I mail to mobile store for my IMEI no. to make a complain. and wait to hear from them.

Alas if only had he made that one last call.

My humble request  to the person who stole my mobile."Please return me my mobile...do not worry at all. I will ask the governor to pardon you."

Vibrancy of a Democracy

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
                                                     -JRR Tolkein

When Obama has come to India he mentioned India has one of the world’s largest democracies because of its three reasons
  •          Elections conducted in a fair manner
  •          Judiciary and justice delivery mechanism
  •          And Free Press

I am sure the time is apt to say the foundations of all need to be strengthened.

To conduct elections  without any illegitimate mechanisms, money and muscle power.
The judiciary and its abilty to give justice in a speedy ,and to all sections of the society in a easy manner.
The media to be able to ask any question fearlessly and not for TRP monerging  as its moral duty.

My attention to the democracratic aspect has been also drawn more to the history of non violent protests in India be it an anna haraze ,a narmada bachav andolan, many ganga bachav protests ,a mamta banergee fast at singur ,and also a protest by Iron Sharmila in Manipur .

History has been very indicative that the no. of non-violent protest have had far lesser  impact to the people in power in terms of any change in policy making or to the cause of protest. So what are the means of making oneself heard and changes brought about?  Are violent protests (Naxalism)an answer?

The depth and reach of the questions that can be  asked , and are asked by the media  to the representatives of the democracy (politicians) and are responded to by them in a honest and convincing manner is an indicator of the vibrancy of a democracy.

The fearlessness of the questionnaire and the magnanimity of the person who responds to it , makes the vibrancy of a democracy.

It is not about,  the media bashes ,  its about how much honest the discussion is on both sides.

Spirituality and its Essence

"Knock, and he will open the door
Vanish, and he will make you shine like the sun
Fall, and he will raise you to the heavens
Become nothing, and he will turn you into everything"
                                                                          -Rumi

What is spirituality? Why is it essential?

Spirituality means to show acceptance to all circumstances’ of life.
It can be explained  like a driver ,wanting to drive his vehicle through a narrow lane. The judgement the driver makes of whether the vehicle can pass though the lane or not may be defined as spirituality. It makes our judgement and decisions that much more accurate.
Just like , driving there is need of a license similarly for  living a life to its fullest, one needs to be spiritually elevated.

Now how is a person be spiritually elevated?

  • It can be by understanding and studying the religious books like the Bhagavat gita  etc.
  • It can also be awakened by listening to perfect spiritual masters.
  • Also the most simplest is to recite the mantra received from a spiritual master.(Called Japa)
  • Or by devotional  service.

How does spirituality help?

Spirituality also helps conserve our energy by directing us to tasks where need be and preventing loss of energies.
The loss of energies occurs in  three ways .
  • Regrets about the past
  • Unintelligent anxieties  about the future
  • Feverish excitement about the present.

Eg A clerk is working honestly from 8am to 8pm.Already there are stakes of files on both sides ,he is worried about the heap of work. At that time an errand boy comes and ask where it should be kept. By the time the officer takes up that and tries to work ,he sees a red label coming out from the file marked ‘immediate’. He is worried about it ,so he closes the file which he has half read ,and pulls out the ‘immediate’  file and starts reading it.By the time he finishes reading it ,his mind goes back to the old file ,while the errand boy has brought another bundle. He is worried ,he is dejected, he knows not where to begin. In this way the energies are lost and person is rendered inefficient.

When the hand is working ,if the head and heart are also present ,there is a new dynamism of artistic perfection in that undertaking.

Once we have got a goal ,something higher than yourself,if there is a social vision ,or a national destiny that moves us forward ,we discover within ourselves a new source of energy and if this energy is not wasted by above mentionable ways then this energy can be completely utilized for accomplishing the various activities that we undertake in the world.

The Spirituality is a way of happy and prosperous living utilizing the utmost of our resources.

Stree Shakti-Happy Women's Day

                                               Lust cannot live near devotion
                                               Nor devotion near lust’s sight
                                              These two never coexist
The sun and gloom of night
                                                                                                       -Kabirdas

Women form the lifeline of any society. They breathe  emotions of love ,affection and compassion into life. They are tolerant and  form the more sacrificial counterparts.
Any society's state is reflected by the condition of its women, the better the condition of women the better is the society.

Half of the population of women in India would be seen  singing bhajans and worshipping god and goddess,-they are devotional. The other half would be seen preparing business plans meeting deadlines,-they are professional. This represents a division between an devotional Indian women and an aspirational Indian women. The former an ideal 19th century women worshipping parent ,Pati is parmeshwar and 'I have to look after my children'-a householder. The latter ,a 21st century women ,where husband is hot and children are cool.-and 'I have to get the contract and deal signed before anyone else does' -An aspirational independent women.

The diference can be reflected in the  huge no of women attending in the pandals of a Devi Chitraleka or a Morari bapu and the other we see  in the boardrooms of a ICICI bank  or a PEPSI CO. group making professional commitments and deadlines.

Whoever be the women be it the 19th century or the 21st century ,a women has to be protected the  mother, the wife and the daughter.

The government on its part seems to be on the right track, launching welfare measures for its women safety and women empowerment by providing easy loans. The scriptures say ,that the strength of the King lies in the criminal code and the attention of the weak and of women

On the ocassion of international women’s day ,celebrating womenhood in the society ,be it an Irom sharmila or a Mamta banerjee or a simple householder.

An Essay:What would you do if you have Rs 50000?

Work, apart from devotion or love of god is helpless and cannot stand alone.

A boy in STD 1V was given a topic ‘What you aspire to become and what would you do with Rs 50,000' to write an essay.

The boy wrote, he was born to do something great.
The boy surely did not know what 'great' meant at that time.

-Maybe he thought it could be construction of a temple or a masjid or a church, would be considered great.(though some people may think otherwise, bringing it down would be considered great)
-Or Maybe helping an old women cross the road.
-Or Maybe lending a disintegrating friend a timely advice
-Or Maybe just looking after his mother.

In fact he did none,he just kept helping himself.
He was selfish and very self-centred.
He kept helping himself with devotion and other things happened as a natural response.

And “ What did he write of the Rs 50000 part?” I am asked,

Well  did not have a choice ,he wrote ,
he would spent it constructing roads, beautifying villages and cleaning up rivers, all for himself.

Consciousness

Krishna Consciousness establishes the most opulent ,the most powerful, the most influential and the most effective culture

Let all our decisions be made by consciousness
not corrupted by mind, intellect or body

Let our reponse to situations be of kuruna.
Let not anger ,greed ,lust corrupt our minds.

Like a mirror once broken has  to be replaced,
consciousness once lost cannot be replaced.

So let our thoughts , words and actions
reflect consciousness rather than hollowness .

Let all our decisions  reflect  fundamentals  of consciousness
and not motivated by  personal profits.

Ayalum Njanum Thammil- A bond between him and me.

Today was  watching a  movie named Ayalum Nyanum Thamil, my imagination and emotion was caught by the story of the film , which  mainly questions the ethical  practices in the medical profession.A truly good film in all respects.

The way the actor Ravi Tharakan  loses his girlfriend as he is unable to attend his marriage  on time due to personal vedanta with a police officer ,the police officer not letting him pass the traffic , though not having  left  a patient to die just prior to him leaving.

Later Dr Tharakan refusing to cure the daughter of the same police officer, also reflects that whatever one sows he  does reap, and the love shown by the Senior doctor Samuel by uttering a lie to protect Tharakan from losing his medical practioning licence, also shows the power of love, though after having slapped Tharakan for not compling with medical ethics.

Why this film caught my attention was because my mother was also admitted in to a  major private  hospital in Mumbai some time ago and a junior doctor was very much interested in his material prospects and of the hospital rather than his ethics . I hope he watched the film.

The reflection of the film in the society takes lot of importance into the profession of medicine,in the way the hospital tries to save itself ,from any malice, and also the ethics of the medical practioners, who ignore their ethics completely, by stealing organs like kidneys from non influential ,ignorant and poor patients without their knowledge and making money.

They say that films are a reflection of the society ,after seeing Ayalum nyanum thaamil, how i wish it were.

Degeneration of religion

God has no religion-M K Gandhi

Religion is based on faith and

-Like Vivekananda said ---

Faith its degeneration when alone –bigotry,fanaticism-sectarianism.
Narrowing finite therefore cannot get to the infinite.
Sometimes gain in intensity but loses in extensity-
and in bigots & fanatics become worship of his own pride & vanity.

Religion did not consist of pamphlets or books; it consisted of looking into the human heart, and finding there the truths of God and immortality.

The fundamental of all religions happens to be “Not to injure others is the highest good”
Religion never has been forced on to people, but has taught self sacrifice and to be tolerant.
The  fatherest point of religion is spiritual, acceptance to all situations in life.
Religions heads from all religions need to move beyond faith, to love.

Religion has a job at hand to elevate persons of brutish habits to better character.

Many recent events have been a reflection of degeneration of religion.
  • The Kashmiri band girls being issued a fatwa by the grand Mufti .
  • Anirudh’s painting being removed from the banglore art exhibition after complaint by a BJP MLA.
  • Vishwaroopan being delayed in its release after protests by few Muslim groups objecting to some scenes even after being cleared by the censor board.
  • Prof. Ashis Nandi being arrested for his remarks on dalits ,and obtaining a stay by SC.

Amidst this chaos there is harmony, throughout these discordant sounds there is a note of concord; and he who is prepared to listen to it will catch the tone.It is religion, the inquiry into the beyond, that makes the difference between man and an animal.

Wisdom  is the goal of all life. We find that man enjoys his intellect more than an animal enjoys its senses; and we see that man enjoys his spiritual nature even more than his rational nature. So the highest wisdom must be this spiritual knowledge. The end and aim of all religions is to realise God.

Since the aim and end of all religions is to realise god ,I do not know how the Kashmiri band girls or the paintings by Anirudh were any different in their aims for realizing god in their own ways.

Education for Character development

Character education not only cultivates minds, it nurtures hearts

Swami Vivekananda on Character:
Pleasure is not the goal of man, but knowledge. Pleasure and happiness come to an end. It is a mistake to suppose that pleasure is the goal. The cause of all the miseries we have in the world is that men foolishly think pleasure to be the ideal to strive for. After a time man finds that it is not pleasure, but knowledge, towards which he is going, and that both pleasure and pain are great teachers, and that he learns as much from evil as from good. As pleasure and pain pass before his soul they have upon it different pictures, and the result of these combined impressions is what is called man's "character".If you take the character of any man, it really is but the aggregate of tendencies, the sum total of the bent of his mind; you will find that
misery and happiness are equal factors in the formation of that character. Good and evil have an equal share in moulding character, and in some instances misery is a greater teacher than happiness.

If you really want to judge of the character of a man, look not at his
great performances. Every fool may become a hero at one time or another.
Watch a man do his most common actions; those are indeed the things which
will tell you the real character of a great man. Great occasions rouse even the
lowest of human beings to some kind of greatness, but he alone is the really
great man whose character is great always, the same wherever he be.

How to work?
A fool may buy all the books in the world, and they will be in his library;
but he will be able to read only those that he deserves to; and this deserving is
produced by Karma. Our Karma determines what we deserve and what we can
assimilate. We are responsible for what we are; and whatever we wish
ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has
been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we
wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to
know how to act. You will say, “What is the use of learning how to work?
Everyone works in some way or other in this world.” But there is such a thing
as frittering away our energies. With regard to Karma-Yoga, the Gita says that
it is doing work with cleverness and as a science; by knowing how to work, one
can obtain the greatest results.

Man works with various motives. There cannot be work without motive. Some
people want to get fame, and they work for fame. Others want money, and they
work for money. Others want to have power, and they work for power.
Others work as a penance; do all sorts of wicked things, then erect a temple, or
give something to the priests to buy them off and obtain from them a passport
to heaven. They think that this kind of beneficence will clear them and they will
go scot-free in spite of their sinfulness. Such are some of the various motives
for work.

Work for work's sake. There are some who work for work's sake, who do not care for name, or
fame, or even to go to heaven. They work just because good will come of it.
There are others who do good to the poor and help mankind from still higher
motives, because they believe in doing good and love good.
The motive for name and fame seldom brings immediate results, as a rule. If a man works without any selfish motive in view, does he not gain anything? Yes, he gains the highest.
Unselfishness is more paying, only people have not the patience to practice it
Love, truth, and unselfishness are not merely moral figures of speech, but they form our highest
ideal, because in them lies such a manifestation of power.

In the first place, a man who can work for five days, or even for five minutes, without any selfish
motive whatever, without thinking of future, of heaven, of punishment, or
anything of the kind, has in him the capacity to become a powerful moral giant.
It is hard to do it, but in the heart of our hearts we know its value, and the good
it brings. This self-control will tend to produce a mighty
will, a character which makes a Vivekanand or a Buddha.

Foolish men do not know this secret; they nevertheless want to rule mankind. Even a fool may rule the
whole world if he works and waits. Let him wait a few years, restrain that
foolish idea of governing; and when that idea is wholly gone, he will be a
power in the world. The majority of us cannot see beyond a few years, just as
some animals cannot see beyond a few steps. Just a little narrow circle — that
is our world. We have not the patience to look beyond, and thus become
immoral and wicked.

Even the lowest forms of work are not to be despised. Let the man, who knows
no better, work for selfish ends, for name and fame; but everyone should
always try to get towards higher and higher motives and to understand them.

If you wish to help a man, never think what that
man's attitude should be towards you. If you want to do a great or a good work,
do not trouble to think what the result will be.

My thoughts:
What is character?
Character is the sigma of good and bad experiences. The persons actions and karma decides his character. The person with who applies his intelligence and knowledge to actions, both in good and bad experiences  determines his character.

How to identify a person which good character?
A persons central theme decides his charater.eg. Mother Teresa is compassionate.
In a Mirabai is devotion, many politicians today are morally corrupt .

Why is character Education important?
Today educations only fosters education for livelihood
Character education empower students to think critically, feel deeply and act wisely –
·         Society at large is with lot of hollow ,and scruples people.
·         Television is the maximum time children spent with rather than with parents therefore is exposed to lot of junk info.
·         Excess  of violent behaviours in society at large.

How to impart character education?
http://www.character.org/lessons/lesson-plans/

How to measure character development  in a student?
·         student discipline;
·         student suicide rates;
·         crimes: assault, burglary, homicides;
·         prosocial activities.

Please Note:Swami vivekananda article on character has been produced from his complete works

The word I learnt in 2012 : Retrospective

Olympics and Oscars a gateway to showcase Indian diaspora globally.

Last year my vocabulary was increased by a word called retrospective. Thanks to Vodafone.
It appealed in the SC and got a order in its favour.Vodafone was asked to pay taxes for its takeover of Hutch in India. It claimed it had no authority over a company in Switzerland.GOI argued it as a case of no taxation and unlawful as its fixed assets were in India. The GOI brought a constitutional amendment called as the famous 'retrospective amendment'.

Now lets think if the world would  go retrospective what would happen

The judge pronounced  :
Ranbhir kapoor and Deepika , married retrospectively ,from 2002.

Vidya Balan decided to get pregnant retrospectively from the time she started acting.

Jury decided to give Aamir Khan , awards ,retrospectively from 1991.

Oscars was given to Shah Rukh khan  for Paheli, retrospectively.

Retrospectively Olympic committee decided to give gold to PT Usha and Milkha Singh.

Couple decided to get divorced retrospectively,i.e. again 2002 ,just a day after marriage.

Judge gave life term to the rapists retrospectively ,before the crime itself.

Students started being paid ,retrospectively, for attending schools and colleges.

On a more serious note, a school nearby has decided to raise fees retrospectively, from april 2012,just curious to know if government would follow suit, to raise fuel  prices retrospectively.

===Awards Hangover.

Rohit Sharma should OPEN

We need more servants(serving attitude) than leaders,we are having to many leaders

Indian cricket has been off color off late .There have been loses in tests and onedayers. The basic reason of its failure of the famous batting order to deliver.

Indias are not know be too experimentive with its decision making .The new batsmen is given a certain no. of matches, whereas a senior batsmen is retained till he has to be dropped. Indians do not change their playing 11 when they are winning and also not  so when their infamed top and middle order have  failed to click. So the only chance they experiment is in an inconsequenal  rubber when they have already won a series. So an out of the box idea has very little chances of execution.

Seeing the recent string of opening partnership is feels appt. to have Rohit Sharma to open the innings in all three formats of the game. He has sound technique combined with a good temperament .Has the skill to dispatch a battery of pace bowlers and is comfortable hooking and pulling the short ball. All these make him the best suited person to open for the Indian team as one does want to leave a person of his calibre and talent to fetch drinks.

The only thing that goes against him is his inconsistency and that counts. In addition to being a good batsmen, he is an excellent fielder and a good team player, forgetting his skirmishes with Sehwag.

Every top batsmen in India  Sachin ,Ganguly and Sehwag have been promoted by their respective captains from middle order to open so that the best batsmen in the team gets to play the maximum no. of overs.

I am sure under the majestic captaincy of MS Dhoni , Rohit Sharma,a good cricketing brain, would do proper justice to the talent  he has by making full use of the opportunities he is given and making it count,so that the vaccum left by the irreplaceable Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is minimized.
