A tribute to Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam- "LIKE HIM"

"All Birds find shelter during a rain.
But Eagle avoids rain by flying above the Clouds."
Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference!!!
                                        - APJ Abdul Kalam

Will there ever be anyone like him,
Will anybody have an audacity to make us dream like him
Will there ever be an igniting mind like him
Will anyone come to ignite us like him
Will we ever have any extraordinary leader like him
Will anyone ever lead us like him

Will you continue to inspire us like no one has,
Will you continue to motivate us like no one has
Will the future ever believe there lived a great human being like you
Will there ever be a bharat ratn like him in the world ,I wonder.

Who will teach us now,
Who will guide us now.
Who will light our path now
Who will dispel the darkness
Who will show us the path
Who will fill the void,now
Who will make us dream
Who will make us fly
Who will dare us to act beyond our boundaries
Will there ever be anyone like him
Will there ever be anyone like him

My Cousin's Wedding

Falling in love was the easy part; planning a wedding - diffficult!

Marriages are made in heaven .Had a wonderful time engaging in my cousins wedding. The process had an elegance and beauty. My heart was filled with joy and happiness.

The bride in gold and diamonds comes out like an angel for the special day.
The bride in this day leaves her home and parts with her family to a new family that of the groom.
She  leaves her mother and her siblings back to be a part of a new family that of her husband.
The preparation for the wedding is a taxing affair for the brides family.
It starts with calling all the guest list, all the relatives, all the family friends, neighbours and many more.
The next important task is to renovate the exisiting home.It takes months of preparation to make the house look like a home.

Also the next task is to buy gold for the bride.the brides family’s power of strength  is measured by the amount of gold the bride has worn.In kerela  the amount of gold is a sense of strength for the bride’s family.
After the gold it is the sarees that take a measure. It is the selection of the sarees that is important and it is time consuming exercise.

Then comes the pre wedding night the people are all busy trying to cook the feast for the wedding.
The people are busy cutting vegetable ,and cooking food.
The process is really amazing and the people are filled with enthuasiam and joy for the wedding.
The bride waits in excitement for the wedding and offers prayers to the near and dear ones as dakshina.
Then that bride leaves home along with the relatives.

Then there is an actual ceremony that takes place on the stage.
The mangalsutra is worn on the bride by the groom followed with music of mriddagam and buegal.

After the completion of the process is followed by a feast. And people begin serving .Starting with
Banana chips and lastly by payasam.
People make a dash for the sadya offered.

Relatives and friends get time to bond a little.Cousins are busy clicking selfies .
The marriage finally ends with the bride leaving her mother alone to her new home.

She puts a gloom of darkness in the old home and brings light in the new home she enters.
Had a very fulfilling experience attending my cousin wedding.

Freedom of expression

For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.-Nelson Mandela

How do you define freedom of expression?
How do we measure the quatum of “hurt” or “offence” against any other person?
Do we also require Censor board for newspapers and books?

My questions are when Perumal Murugan, a Tamil Nadu-based writer, has decided not to write anymore, and has withdrawn all his books. His decision comes on the back of raging protests against his latest book, 'Madhorubagan', by Hindu and caste-based outfits.

How does one define “hurt” to a particular religion, society, caste, creed?
How do we define the boundaries of freedom of expression?

They say that while having freedom of expression the writer has a responsibility, not to hurt anyone ?
Each writer and author has a different boundaries of freedom of expression…so how do we measure ‘responsibility’?

Do we recall the book or ban it if it is offensive to certain people?
Sometimes I can understand if a film is offensive to me I may not watch it, ditto with a book...

If the intent of the writer is blasphemy or riots or to offend, the writer should be put behind bars.

RFP for government funded Healthcare insurance

In India thousands of children die for want of better and timely healthcare ,and with every death, a dream. VAPOUR+ to implement H+ Care

VAPOUR+ software product used to implement the H+Care.
   ·     The UI screen using which a doctor/hospital can apply and check status(Accept, under process,Deny )for a claim from any place or by submitting to a H+ Care executive.
   ·     A database storing the claims received from various parts of the country.
   ·     A claim engine that processes (Accepts/ Denies) the various claims received by running of a claim cycle at a prespecified time of the day.
   ·  Also a report generated stating the reason in case of denial of a claim.

UI screen and claim processing to be implemented in Java, Database in Oracle.

A summary of how the H+ Care product would work.

A doctor makes a claim using the UI screen of Vapour+ Care, the claim gets stored into the database and gets processed at the specified time the claim cycle runs. The money is credited into the account of the doctor as per the claim status of being denied or accepted.

Education is business

Education has become a business. The fees for an MBBS degree and engineering have increased manifolds that it has become a distant dream for the common man .Now a common man can only hope to become an engineer or a doctor.

The talent and merit has given way to money and power. The minority quotas introduced are being sold to the highest bidder. Only people with money can dream to be a doctor or an engineer

The government and judiciary has to intervene in order to make education affordable to meritorious students. There is a realistic possibility that ,becoming doctors, will be a distant dream for meritorious students.

In turn these students who pass out, charge exorbitant charges as doctors increasing the healthcare costs.

Education and healthcare should not become a business it should be a social endeviour.

To Serve:The highest ideal

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it,
live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body,
be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone.
This is the way to success.-Swami Vivekananda

India’s sole lies in its villages and if the villages are destroyed ,
the nation decays, its culture and its vibrancy is lost.

If the nation has to prosper, its villages have to be preserved.
If the villages are self reliant, the culture retains and the nation
prospers and there is happiness around.

The major source of  livelihood for the villages is agriculture.
And the failure of one crop often leads to starvation and
farmer suicides. Many villages still do not have access to
clean drinking water and electricity. The picture of healthcare
and sanitation is also glim. The infant mortality rate is very alarming.

These villages need to be preserved in its entirety. They have
to be made self sufficient in all respects such that there is no
need for migration of people from villages to cities.Only then
can the nation retain its essence and prosper.

There has to be a doctor in each village, villages need to have
access to clean drinking water and toilets.Villages need to be
skilled in alternate professions like sewing ,carpentry, pumbing,
construction so that lack of rainfall or crop failure do not rob
them of their livelihood.

Shree Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, an epitome of experience
and embodiment of compassion, though her project Amrita Serve
is trying to build gaps in 101 villages all over India .Amrita Serve
has adopted these villages with the aim to make each of them self
reliant. There have been committees of villagers made consisting of
women as well as youth in order to propel the activities,be it
skill transfer or solar powered electricity.

The project also provides students of Amrita and volunteers
with an opportunity to serve in turn bridging the gaps and
also leading to effective innovations.

The mission of the project is to preserve the essence of India
by making villages self reliant by empowering the villagers
